Here are some steps to consider taking whether you're searching for a job, need gig work quickly or have been asked to work from home. Many employers are hiring now to fill urgent talent needs. Here's our list of companies hiring now. As our daily lives shift with the spread of COVID, you may require the support of unemployment benefits.

Here are several steps you can take to find the help you need when leaving a job. Indeed Community. I don't get why I can find a job.. I'm starting to believe are countries about to collapse.. I'm a US citizen and feel like I get nowhere.. I've had 4 Interviews and never given the job. I have a daughter 8 months and a girlfriend who had a job for 2 years and finds a job the first place she applies at. I tried the Military and get turned down left and fuging right..

I'm athletic but man its depressing.. Me and my gf are on foodstamps because she doesn't make much and have no car.. I cant go to school because I have no money and refuse to go in dept and not be guaranteed a job.

Its getting to me and seriously thing about suicide.. Rather be dead then my girlfriend tell me I'm a loser.. I cant leave my gf because I will go to jail if I cant pay child support.. Preview Exit Preview.

Just don't take your anger and frustration out on your family or yourself or complain to any potential employers many of whom are clueless how hard it is to get a job nowadays.

Your little girl needs a daddy and you can still give her love even if you don't have money. I'm in Canada so apparently our job market is a "little" brighter compared to the US but it's still freakin ridiculously hard!

In the last six months I only had two interviews and a phone call- that's it! It's degrading facing the fact you may have to apply for welfare if it gets to the point of zero money in your account but sometimes it has to be done.

Don't go into dept if you can avoid it, once you dig a hole it's hard to fill if you have no money to fill it with. It will get bigger and swallow you whole. First off, look at your finances and see when you will have to apply for full welfare if it takes a couple months to have the application go through and you only have a couple months of "enough" money- fill out the form and send it in now.

I'm glad you are at least getting food stamps- as that definitely will help. Secondly, you are NOT a loser. If you are out there applying in person and looking online make sure it's at least for a good hours if not more everyday because there is only so many company websites, job boards and places to go to apply for then you are doing the best you can! Lastly, say sayonara to your girlfriend. If you both are feeling unloved, unappreciated and do not want to be together in the relationship than its no longer beneficial to you both or the child.

Good luck to you and all of us! LoL so true. My God, I just put in two applications today, 1 by direct email and 1 in person. I don't even try with it anymore. I just make sure my app is scribbles and error free, that's it.

I don't even think hard about listing ALL my past employers anymore. Why try? If you go to stormfront you will read similar stuff, but they claim it is them regular posters there who neither look like Trayvon nor like Zimmerman who share the fate you describe. Now that's the most amazing part. Nothing, for those of us who aren't mainstream.

We're just going through the motions it seems. Don't you know? The rules don't apply to him lol. The subject was not related to a frustrated job seeker's rant, accordingly I suggested not to mix it into debate. Doing so only serves to shift focus from what we all observe to be a terrible job market. If it was related to "frustrated job search rant" I would be more than eager to participate. I see you have some vested interest in discussing that subject and may you feel free to do so.

Since I rely on reason, some people occasionally find it is not enough to make some rude noise and then insinuate that they have proven any point. I stopped paying attention to him and his hypocritical tirades along time ago. If I see his username I purposely skip over his post. I don't even bother reading it. Never will be. He's a sad case. I suggested that the controversial subject which was irrelevant to 'job seeker rant' be not mixed with the debate, since neither Trayvon nor Zimmerman were in a conflict over applying or hiring someone for a job.

If they were it would be an interesting piece to debate there. Politics on economic front, on the other hand, is directly relevant to the current job market conditions. Would you disagree? My suggestion in no way was an ultimatum or call on you to obey it. Contrary to it, I repeatedly suggested you feel free to post what you will and I left it to indeed admins to decide the rest.

If you don't like to talk about politics feel free to stay out of it. I sure will keep focusing on it as I find it to be directly relevant to the current job market conditions.

Don't waste you time. Most don't think it's real. They think we are playing the 'race card'. I worked in a warehouse where all the blacks and browns worked on the floor, even those with degrees who couldn't find work.. What you believe in is your business. You can believe in a Santa Claus if you want to. To each their own. Your Religion is your business, just as my Atheism is mine.

Now, tell me this: two unfortunate men were in the wrong place at the wrong time, one happened to be Hispanic and another was Afro American. There was altercation. One man shot another and latter had died. Florida law says: if you fear bodily harm you can shoot and kill. The law was not written for these two men, definitely not for Hispanics to take arms and shoot Afro-Americans. There were no witnesses on scene to altercation. Court ruled there was not enough evidence to convict the defendant as charged.

Explain to me, please, how is it connected to us and our inability to get a job? Are you implying that we are supposed to be Hispanics to get a job? Or do you think I am Afro-American and ergo jobless? I assume that there could be a certain set of parameters and cultural stereotypes employed by private industry which put some people at disadvantage as opposed to others when looking for a job and these parameters could be broad and involve a set of more than few variables ,in order to escape the liability in court,so if such foul play exists it is not going to be focused on age only, or any other single parameter , but I still have no faintest idea how the Zimmerman or OJ cases related it, in what way?

Sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time. Is it possible for you and your gf to find a good therapist that you can afford? Maybe someone who is accessible by public transportation. Or even try calling the Samaritan hotline if you feel like things are that bad. It is hard to see past it sometimes but try to hang in there and stay hopeful. I don't have a child but if I did that would be the one thing to keep me going Aww That's a sweet post. Sometimes I find hotlines don't work for me.

Everyone seems robotic and scripted on them I think a lot of people suffer from some degree of depression. Probably even some that answer the phones at the Samaritan hotline. Thank you JobSeeker I feel like it helps to be supportive, even if we are all anonymous posters on a forum. J Gagill, that is a good point. Didn't think of that but it makes sense.

I chose my career over my girlfriend and I am sorry now

I am a stay-at-home girlfriend. When my boyfriend goes off to work, I spend my days cooking, cleaning our two-bedroom Greenpoint apartment and trying to look good for him when he comes home. I never planned on this lifestyle; my corporate job of four years was outsourced in October when we were already living together.

My girlfriend Kristen lost her job almost a year ago and my patience is wearing thin. If I were in her shoes, I would be networking with everyone I know to find a job. But Kristen just applies to jobs she sees online.

My girlfriend and I have been together for three years, and we are very happily deeply committed. We live together, split rent, have cats, are both on the lease, that kind of thing. We talk openly about money, and while we live in one of the most expensive cities in the states, we do an alright job saving while also having fun money. My girlfriend works in tech. The problem is that she is very shy, hard on herself, and resistant to change.

I Am Breaking Up a Good Relationship Because My Girlfriend Won’t Change Her Priorities

My girlfriend and I relocated together to California and, as I got a great job, she said she could work from anywhere with her job, as it is commission based. In the last 3 years, she has not been able to contribute to the expenses for anything. She does cook every night for my 2 sons, does the shopping and some lite cleaning. I have asked her to get a job, and even got to the point of telling her to get a job, and she will look for a week, and then give up. We have had to move 4 times, I lost my car, my credit is shot, I live in a small apartment now, and she is working for her commission job, but not making any money! Then her sister moved in with us on a temporary note, and now she is going to have to have her sister move in with us because her sister is sick and can no longer take care of herself. I make a really good living, but I have absolutely nothing to show for it, and I am broke. As for my 2 kids, one is now in college, and the other moved in with him to finish high school out of state, back to our home town.

When she snapped at me that she was giving me all the time she had to give, the light bulb went on. Should I have stuck this out to prove my support though I never felt supported by her for my feelings, which I sometimes expressed while she remained silent? Work is her main self-image.
