A man should not live by bread alone
Definition: Humans need more than just sustenance to have a fulfilled life; people have spiritual needs as well as physical needs. Most people interpret this to mean that people need God to live, just like they need food. While food will satisfy our physical needs, a relationship with God will satisfy our spiritual and emotional needs. In this example, two friends are talking about their busy schedules. Neha: Hey, Tyrese. Do you have a minute?

Not By Bread Alone
What does the Bible say about? And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,. Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. What prevents me from being baptized? For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?
For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it,.
And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them,. And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God.
This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him? Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,.
If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
And the disciples were amazed at his words. And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to him.
There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments. The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times. You, O Lord , will keep them; you will guard us from this generation forever. But the word of the Lord remains forever. Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
And constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus, greet you. Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages.
And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation. And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him,. For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves. Have you come here to torment us before the time? And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star. Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life.
And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her! Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. That you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—. Unless otherwise indicated, all content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License.
