Moments later as she opens the rear car door a tiger pounces and attacks her, dragging her off the road. Local Government officials say the woman's mother was killed by a second tiger as she tried to rescue her daughter, which was not caught on CCTV. Reports say the mother was killed on the spot and her daughter was left with serious injuries from the attack and remains in hospital. The New York Times says this is not the first fatality to happen at the drive-through animal park which is near a famous section of the Great Wall in North Beijing. A park employee was killed by an elephant in March and a security guard was also killed by a tiger after stepping out of a patrol vehicle in the park. By Tracy You For Mailonline. A Chinese woman who saw her mother being mauled to death by a protected tiger has demanded a 1.

The deceased woman, Ms Zhou, was trying to save her daughter, Ms Zhao, who had stepped out of their car in the animal enclosure and got dragged away by a hungry beast last year. Ms Zhou was killed instantly while Ms Zhao sustained serious injuries and was apparently left disabled.

Ms Zhao pictured told Pear Video she hoped the park could bear part of the responsibility. Previous official investigation ruled that the incident was not an accident caused by safety concerns at the park. The court case started today in Beijing, according to Xinhua News Agency. Dramatic video footage captures Ms Zhou chasing her daughter out of the car after watching her being dragged away by the tiger, only to be mauled when she was pounced upon by a second powerful beast.

As she stands, a huge tiger is ready to pounce behind her at the Badaling Wildlife World. Ms Zhao's mother was killed by a Siberian tiger file photo , a protected species in China. Initially it was thought the family were fighting in the car, hence the reason for Ms Zhao to get out, but later local reports suggested they simply thought they had left the enclosure where ferocious beasts were kept. Ms Zhao's husband, who was also present, was believed to have tried to save the pair while their child stayed in the car.

The family were eventually rescued by Badaling's staff, but there was nothing that could be done for the mother. The daughter was seriously injured in the neck. Among the evidence she presented to the court, a report showed that she had been left disabled by the incident.

The 6,acre Beijing Badaling Wildlife Park allows people to either drive themselves or join a tour. Ms Zhao is dragged to the floor where she is mauled by the big cat, sustaining serious injuries. But her mother, Ms Zhou, is mauled to death after she runs out of the car to help the woman.

After the incident, the park was told to suspend its operation by the authority of Yanqing District, where it's situated. In August, an investigation claimed that the incident had not been caused by any safety concerns in the park, and the park resumed business. The tiger enclosure reopened in November, however self-driving tours have since been prohibited.

A sign saying 'do not get off the car' was also put up at the entrance. Unhappy with the fact that the park had not been held responsible for the incident, Ms Zhao and two family members sent a petition to the court on November 15, demanding a 1. The payout apparently included 1. In another interview with Xinhua, she said: 'We have never denied our fault, but it doesn't cover the park's responsibility.

He started snapping pictures of the dangerous predators, with nothing to protect him if one of the lions decided it was hungry. Visitors to the park are told not to get out of their vehicles because of the danger from wild animals. The video shares a resemblance to another viral video, when a woman climbed into the lion enclosure at the Bronx Zoo. The zoo has condemned the video, confirming staff were alerted that someone climbed over a safety barrier at its African lion enclosure on Saturday.
